Oman beach soccer team overcame a late charge by Qatar national team to emerge 4-2 winners in their second friendly played in Bahrain yesterday. According to information received from Oman coach Talib Hilal, Oman dominated their Qatari rivals in the first session to take 2-0 lead. However, Qatar fought back to reduce the margin to 3-1 in the second session and then gave tough fight in the third session. But Oman hung on to win the match 4-2.
The Sultanate team’s goals were scored by Faisal al Balushi (2), Akram al Balushi (1) and Haitham al Araimi (1). The Asian Beach Games soccer champions, who drew 4-4 against Bahrain in the first friendly on Sunday, will now leave for Saudi Arabia today.
